August 2006 Main article: Worldwide Developers Conference 2006 On February 28, 2006, Apple held a press conference at the Town Hall conference center in Cupertino where Steve Jobs presented presented the iPod Hi-Fi speaker system. New universal binary versions of iLife and iWork were demonstrated along with Rosetta, which allowed PowerPC software to be run in emulation. During the keynote event on the opening day, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the Intel-based iMac and MacBook Pro as Apple's first systems to use Intel's Core Duo processors.
